In addition to being used as a structural material, magnesium is also used in steel mill desulfurization, alloy additives and the production of sponge titanium. The application of magnesium in the production process of sponge titanium is a relatively important part of magnesium consumption. In the past few years, due to factors such as environmental protection rectification and unstable raw material prices, the price of raw magnesium fluctuated greatly. In order to reduce production costs, some semi-process sponge titanium plants gradually switched from semi-process production lines to full-process production lines.
Sun Qian pointed out that in recent years, magnesium enterprises have accelerated the pace of transformation and upgrading, achieved major breakthroughs in environmental protection and technical reforms, and achieved significant results. Prices have gradually fallen back to the normal range, but the consumption of magnesium in sponge titanium smelting has not improved significantly. The purpose of this symposium is to build an exchange platform for magnesium and titanium industry enterprises and explore new models for the development of the magnesium and titanium industry.
An Zhongsheng introduced the current situation of the sponge titanium industry and looked forward to the development trend of the titanium industry in the next five years. He pointed out that in recent years, the development momentum of my country's titanium industry has been good, and the output of sponge titanium and titanium materials has increased year by year. A relatively mature new pattern of industrial development has been formed. The application field of titanium is constantly expanding, covering military industry, aerospace, petroleum, chemical industry, shipbuilding, 3C electronics and other industries.
With the expansion of titanium material application scenarios, the output of sponge titanium continues to increase. In addition to the existing production capacity, there are also some planned production capacities to be built. Full-process production can realize the recycling of magnesium and make it easier to control production costs, but the construction of a full-process production line requires a lot of manpower, material resources and time. If there is stable quality and low-cost raw magnesium as raw material, the construction of a semi-process production line is also an option. An Zhongsheng said that the good cooperation between magnesium companies and titanium companies has a positive impact on the healthy development of the industry. He hopes that all magnesium and titanium companies will continue to maintain close contact and strengthen communication after the meeting to jointly create a new situation of high-quality development of the magnesium and titanium industry.
Wu Jing said that as the world's largest magnesium production and supply base, Fugu County's magnesium industry has firm confidence and sufficient strength to provide a stable and reliable supply of magnesium to the titanium industry at a reasonable price; it is hoped that all magnesium and titanium companies will continue to strengthen the in-depth docking between the two sides based on this symposium, deepen industrial collaboration, promote close cooperation between the magnesium and titanium industries, and promote the coordinated high-quality development of the magnesium and titanium industries. Fugu County will actively play a guiding role and vigorously promote the development of new quality productivity to promote the healthy, green and sustainable development of the magnesium and titanium industries, and add new momentum to the high-quality economic development of Fugu County.
