Due to changes in the market demand for sponge titanium, downstream enterprises have higher and higher requirements for product quality. As early as 2005, the company increased its investment in science and technology, independently developed a 12-ton/furnace inverted U-shaped reduction-distillation combined method to produce titanium sponge production technology and equipment, breaking the bottleneck of development and production. In the past three years, the company has invested a total of 108 million yuan in research and development. The investment in science and technology has not only increased the added value of titanium sponge products, but also helped the group to further enhance its competitiveness in the high-end market of titanium sponge. "This set of reduction and distillation process is a core process for our production of titanium sponge. It requires supporting processes to jointly realize the production of the whole process. The relevant processes include magnesium electrolysis process, chlorination process, and finished product process. The processes are interconnected to complete the transmission and production of this material." Zhang Luguo introduced that the reduction and distillation process is a relatively efficient and economical production method. At the same time, the company also vigorously promotes the deep processing of titanium to fill the chain, accelerate the high-quality development of the basic materials industry, and realize the application of various basic materials such as high-end titanium sponge, high-purity titanium powder, titanium alloys and other titanium materials, and aerospace titanium products to daily necessities. It now has an annual production capacity of 10,000 tons of magnesium metal, 24,000 tons of titanium sponge, and 45,000 tons of titanium tetrachloride.
